b2ap3_thumbnail_SEH-logo2.pngThe "SEH Grant in Herpetology" will again support in 2013 a project orientated to the conservation of the amphibians and reptiles of Europe and the Mediterranean basin, focused on either a species or habitat, with a grant of up to EUR 2000. The SEH Conservation Committee and the SEH Council will decide on the project applications, and priority will be given to those addressing species conservation priorities identified by the Committee and the Council. The decision will take into consideration:

  1. Conservation orientation of the proposal
  2. Proposed costs and time table (expenses for the project-material, other costs (petrol))
  3. Scientific background
  4. Statement on why SEH funding is needed.

The recipient of the funds does not need to be a SEH member, but the applicant must be a SEH member before the deadline. Applications from young researchers are particularly encouraged. The deadline for applications is 31 December 2012 and they should be sent to the SEH vice treasurer Petros Lymberakis (e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) as PDF Files. Applications should include:

  • A short curriculum vitae of the prospective candidate.
  • An outline of the project, including a time table, the goals that are intended to be achieved and the means for reaching these goals.
  • A financial plan, including a statement on other financial support for the project.

Please send your application in a single document - max 4 pages.

A decision on the applications will be taken before the end of January 2013. The grant will be provided on the understanding that the funds are used exclusively for the purpose that they were requested for, and that a report (to be published in Amphibia-Reptilia) will be submitted to the SEH Council immediately after the project has been completed.
